Region Sees $188.9M In Venture Investments In Q3, Utah Leads Activity

The local technology industry across the region saw a total of around $188.9M in venture investments in Q3 of 2015, according to the latest PricewaterhouseCoopers/National Venture Capital Association's MoneyTree report, which was released last night. The numbers--based on data compiled by Thomson Reuters--saw Utah leading the region this quarter, with 15 deals totaling $117.3M. Colorado came in second, with $70.9M invested across 12 deals. Montana had one deal worth $300,000, and New Mexico with a single deal worth $450,000.

Nationally, according to the MoneyTree report, venture investing dollars were down 5 percent, to $16.3 billion invested across 1,070 deals nationwide. That was down 11 percent in terms of deals compared to Q2. However, the report said that the $47.2 billion invested in the first three quarters of 2015 was greater than the full year totals for 17 of the past 20 years.
