University of Colorado Researchers Advance Microscopic Imaging
An industry group, the Semiconductor Reserach Corproation (SRC), said a group of researchers at the University of Colorado have made a big advancement in microscopic imaging today, detailed in a paper published on ScienceDirect. According to the industry group--which is a major, university-research consortium for semiconductor technologies--said the team has developed technology which uses extreme-ultraviolet (EUV) light to enable the development of powerful, tabletop microscopes. The group said the advancements in microscopic imaging by the team will help advance next-generation nanotechnology in applications ranging from data storage to medicine, and offers up an alternative to traditional scanning electron and atomic force microscopy techniques, with as much as a 20x improvement in spatial resolution. The researchers are located at UC Boulder.
