Sling Launches National Ad Campaign
Englewood, Colorado-based Sling is making a national push for its streaming television service, and has launched a national ad campaign aimed at millennials, the company said this week. Sling said its #TakeBackTV campaign includes a mix of 60 second and 30 second ads, which will run across TV, social, and digital platforms -- heckling customers who use "old" TV services -- and in what looks like a subtle dig at Dish Network's main competitor, a fictional company called "oldTV". Sling did not say how much it is investing in the national ad campaign. Sling offers up 20 channels for $20 per month via the Internet, including ESPN, ESPN2, AMC, A&E, TNT, HISTORY, H2, TBS, Food Network, HGTV, Travel Channel, IFC, El Rey, Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, ABC Family, Disney Channel, CNN, Bloomberg TV, Lifetime and Galavision. The service also offers up a number of premium packages at additional cost. Sling is owned by Dish Network.
