CompassData Looks To Conquer Denali
Centennial, Colorado-based geospatial information provider CompassData said last week that it plans to conquer Mount McKinley (Denali), with a plan to survey the summit of Denali, and obtain the true elevation of the summit. The current, accepted elevation at the peak of Denali is 20,320 feet, but apparently is believed to possibly be lower. The original elevation numbers were established in 1953, as a part of the first topological mapping of Denali. Photo of Denali by Tim Rains, via the NPS.
