C7 Data Centers Starts On Phase 2 Of New Utah Data Center
Bluffdale, Utah-based data center operator C7 Data Centers said this morning that it has started construction on Phase 2 of its new Granite Point II data center and office. The center--which has been open since December of 2013--is expanding by another 30,000 square feet. C7 said it expects the new phase of the data center to be finished in October. The company said it has also expanded power capacity at the complex to more than 11 megawatts, and that an onsite substation is planned for 2016 which will bring that to more than 20 megawatts of power capcaity. That attention to power capability is particularly important in light of major power issues at another, Bluffdale data center--run by the National Security Agency--down the street.
