Boulder-based energy service management software developer
Tendril said today that it has rolled out high energy usage and bill notification support for all North American consumers, both with and without smart meters. According to Tendril, its new Proactive High Bill Notification service helps inform customers halfway through a billing cycle if a bill is expected to be higher, based on their normal usage--to help them take corrective action using its interactive tools. The service--which it provides to utilities--is aimed at helping to reduce the number of surprised and frustrated consumers, who are hit with higher bills due to unexpected heating or cooling. Tendril said its new service uses demographics, local weather, home information and architecture, and more to help generate the data and inform consumers of energy issues--which in turn helps utilities by decreasing their customer support call volumes.
