Two, Utah investment groups--
Sorenson Capital and
Leavitt Equity--said last week that they have backed a company called
Rural Physicians Group, which helps provide 24/7 acute care hospitalists to community hospitals on a rotating basis. Financial details of the investment were not disclosed. Rural Physicians Group said the investment was led by Sorenson Capital, and also included additional support from Leavitt Equity Partners. Rural Physician Group says it provides three to four hospitalists who stay on at a hospital 24/7, rotating in seven to 10 day shifts, and help to support primary care physicians, surgeons, and others. The company is led Skuh Pannu, M.D.
