Denver-based
HotSpot Tax, a provider of rental tax filing services for vacation rental operators, has scored a win with online vacation rental marketplace
HomeAway, to automate tax filing for users of the market. HomeAway said it has launched the HotSpot Tax Center, an automated, web-based tax filing solution for state and local short-term rental taxes, which will offer up information on conforming with tax laws. The deal will help connect vacation rental owners with HotSpot, which charges around $12 a month to help those owners deal with varying local tax laws and requirements. HotSpot was founded by Rob Stephens, and was very recently acquired by tax software company Avalara, in February.
