Techstars Spurs Startups To Help Communities Worldwide
Boulder-based startup accelerator program operator Techstars has been on the forefront of encouraging startup activity on a worldwide basis, and is now applying that worldwide reach to helping local communitites where its startups are based. According to Techstars, it has partnered with the group Pledge 1%--which encourages companies to pledge one percent of their company equity, personal equity, time, and products--to help local communities and nonprofits. The new partnership is an outgrowth of an existing effort by Techstars that are linked to the Entrepreneur's Foundation of Colorado--an effort started back around 2007 with Techstars' companies and a number of other, Boulder companies to help give back to the local community.
