Cotopaxi Finds $6.5M For Outdoor Gear With A Purpose
Salt Lake City-based outdoor gear and apparel company Cotopaxi announced this morning that it has raised $6.5M in funding round, a Series A for the company. The funding was led by Greycroft Partners, and also included NEA, ForeRunner Ventures, Lere Hippeau Ventures, plus angels such as Josh James (Demo), Jeff Kearl (Stance), along wiith Neil Blumenthal (Warby Parker), Dave Gilboa (Warby Parker), Andy Dunn (Bonobos), and Brian Lee (The Honest Company). Cotopaxi develops outdoor gear--such as backpacks, water bottles, jackets, and t-shirts--all of which go to also support specific social issues and causes. Cotopaxi also runs an adventure race called "The Questival" which benefits local charities.
