Photobucket Buys Lasso Media, Brings Back Co-founder Welch
Denver-based online photo sharing and printing site Photobucket has acquired Lasso Media, the maker of the Lasso chat and photo messaging app created by former Photobucket founder Alex Welch and Chad Podoski. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Lasso was created in 2013 as a way to share and keep track of photos. Welch left Photobucket back in 2009, after the site was acquired by Fox Interactive Meia. Welch had founded Photobucket with fellow ex-Level 3 engineer Darren Crystal in 2003.
