Grotech Backs DB Networks
Grotech Ventures, one of the region's more active venture capital investors, is the lead investor in a developer of network security software. DB Networks, which is based in San Diego, California, said Grotech Ventures led a $17M funding round for the company, which also included Khosla Ventures and Citi Ventures. Grotech's investment in DB Networks was led by Joe Zell, who also leads the firm's activity in Colorado. Grotech has recently invested in such local companies as TaskEasy, Cloud Elements, CommercialTribe, and Closely--among many others. Joe Zell join's DB Networks' board of directors with the funding.
