ParentLink
, which develops K-12 communications tools to help connect teachers with parents, has been acquired by education software giant
Blackboard
. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Blackboard said the move will help it increase its K focus. The company said ParentLink currently provides its services to more than eight thousand schools. ParentLink was founded and is headed by John Graff; the company's parent firm is Parlant Technology. Parlant was advised by Vista Point Advisors in the deal.
