First Solar Kicks Off Major PV Project In South America
Tempe, Arizona-based First Solar said Friday afternoon that it has installed the first panels at a major installation in South America, which it says will be the largest, photovoltaic (PV) solar plant in South America. The maker of solar panels saidt he 141 megawatt project will be installed in Chile, and is expected to be complete by December 2015. The company said the project is 58 kolometers north of the city of Copiapo. The project is expected to supply power for over 173,962 homes.
