Boulder Nearly Loses Patron Saint Of Tech Startups In Biking Accident
Brad Feld, the patron saint of Boulder's technology scene--and the inspiring force for many, aspiring technology startup regions--suffered a major bicycle accident on Friday, and was taken to the hospital unconscious in an ambulance. Feld said on his blog that he is okay, but that the accident is the "end of his biking career". Feld apparently was found unconscious on the side of the road by passers-by, and taken to the hospital by paramedics. Feld is the driving force behind Boulder's rise as one of America's premier cities for startups, having--through both startup accelerator Techstars and his venture capital firm, Foundry Group--helped build the city and the surrounding region into one of the fastest growing technology startup communities in the world.
