Swiftpage Takes ACT! To The Cloud
Denver-based Swiftpage, which develops small business software, said Thursday that it has launched a version of Act! which runs in the cloud. According to Swiftpage, the software--which has been in beta testing--lets users handle contact management and email marketing. SwiftPage acquired the venerable Act! software from Sage in Feburary of 2013, and since then has converted the contact management title to run in the cloud. The company said it has retained the best features of the original Act! desktop software, but added a number of other mobile device features, including importing contacts from Google Contacts and iCloud. Swiftpage is backed by Accel-KKR. Act! was one of the dominate titles for contact management in the pre-Internet age, sharing the market with Goldmine Software; both titles fell to the wayside with the decline in PC-based software titles and such online cloud products as Salesforce.com and other similar products.
