TrackVia: IT Embracing BYOD
Denver-based TrackVia, the developer of business applications software--led by Pete Khanna and venture backed by Longworth Venture Partners, Fairhaven Capital, Access Venture Partners, Flywheel Ventures, Draper Associates and Allen & Company--says that IT workers are now embracing "bring-your-own-device" (BYOD) efforts by employees. TrackVia said it ran a survey of 1,000 U.S. workers and 250 IT department employees, saying that 53 percent of IT workers now understand that employees can and will use outside devices and apps for work--and don't expect employees to use only IT approved apps and devices. The survey also found that more than half of the employees surveyed admit to bringing their own apps and devices to work to make work easier. TrackVia's software lets companies build custom apps for their departments, without having to require programming or long term development efforts. The company has recently been running a series of BYOD-focused surveys to help drum up interest in its software to help address the concerns of companies over the use of unauthorized, unsecured apps.
