Fusion-io Acquisition Deal Moves Past Milestone
The acquisition of Salt Lake City-based flash storage maker Fusion-io by flash storage device maker SanDisk is moving forward, as SanDisk said this morning that it has just passsed the waiting period for U.S. antitrust review under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976. The waiting period is one of the major milestones in big mergers and acquisitions deals. SanDisk is paying approximlatey $1.1 billion for Fusion-io. The deal had been announced in June. SanDisk said that it now expects the transaction to close in its fiscal Q3.
