Boomtown Accelerator Aims At Connected Devices
Boulder-based startup accelerator Boomtown Boulder has its eyes on the Internet of Things market. The accelerator--which just held its demo day on Friday--announced at the event that it is opening up a new, Connected Device Lab which it says will focus on advancements in "Internet of Things" technology. The accelerator said it decided to start the lab because of two startups at its demo day which are involved in that market. The "Internet of Things" market is focused on the emerging trend of connecting almost everything in daily life -- thermostats, refrigerators, doorbells, you name it--to the Internet, so that they can be monitored or controlled from anywhere. Boomtown said it will base its Connected Device Lab in downtown Boulder, and will expect its services to be available in the fall of 2014.
