Cool Planet Energy Finds $100M For Biofuel Technology
Greenwood Village-based Cool Planet Energy Systems, a developer of biofuels processes which it says are carbon negative and produce both biofuels and soil amendments, has raised $100M in a Series D financing round. The company said the private placement was led by UBS and Goldman Sachs, and also included both its current strategic and venture investors, along with a number of new, equity funds from outside of the United States. Cool Planet's biofuels process produces both fuel as well as a biochar product, which it says can be used to increase crop productivity and health, and also help reduce water and fertilizer requirements.
