GoDaddy Adds Female, Former Apple Exec To Board
Scottsdale, Arizona-based GoDaddy has bolstered its board this week, saying that it has added Betsy Rafael--former Chief Accounting Officer at Apple--to its board of directors. Rafael also has served as VP of Finance at Cisco Systems, and also served at Ernst & Young, Sun, SGI, Escalate and Aspect Communications. GoDaddy said that Rafael is the first, woman board member at GoDaddy, and also serves on the boards of Echelon and Autodesk. The move comes as GoDaddy has been radically reshaping its image away from racy commercials, first perpetuated in its launch Super Bowl ads. GoDaddy swore off risque ads last year, as its new private equity owners have steered the company firmly towards the small business market.
