Gnip Debuts Search API For Twitter
Boulder-based Gnip is expanding its lineup of products to help companies analyze the huge firehose of social data being generated every day, with a new product to instantly gather information on recent Twitter data. According to Gnip, it new Search API for Twitter product lets customers tap into real-time, search data from Twitter, allowing marketers to build applications to tie into Twitter's real time stream. Gnip had previously provided archival access to Twitter's stream, but the new API allows applications which instantly react to current Twitter activity possible. Gnip said it already has a number of customers, including Expion and Simply Measured using the new API. Pricing on the new API was not announced.
