SimpleEnergy, the Boulder-based provider of an online platform to encourage people to save energy, has raised $2.0M as part of an ongoing funding round. The details of the funding came via a regulatory filing. According to the filing, the funds come as part of a $2.7M funding round that is currently in progress. No details on the funding have yet been announced by the company. SimpleEnergy is led by Yoav Lurie, and has previously taken funding from Foundry Group and TechStars.

The firm's services are offered up to utilities, to help encourage utility customers to save energy by using game mechanics and social platforms like Facebook to provide incentives for users to save energy. The firm is offering up its platform as a white label product to utilities, who have been using the platform to run contests and other promotions around saving energy.
