Tendril Links With Hitachi
Boulder-based Tendril, the developer of software and hardware being applied to energy management, said today with Hitachi Communications Technologies America that the two are partnering to delivery smart energy applications to consumers. The two said they will deliver Tendril's suite of web and mobile home energy management applications through set-top boxes, wireless gateways and other devices. Financial details of the link were not disclosed. Hitachi said the move will come via its Hitachi SuperJ Application Ecosystem, a Java-based platform being aimed at telecom, cable, mobile and other service providers. Tendril's software will be used for energy monitoring, management and device control. Tendril is venture backed by VantagePoint Capital Partners, Siemens Venture Capital (SVC), Good Energies, RRE Ventures and GE.
