mediaFORGE Acquired By Rakuten LinkShare
Salt Lake City-based mediaFORGE, the developer of advertising retargeting technology headed by Tony Zito, has been acquired by a unit of Japanese e-commerce giant Rakuten. According to Rakuten LinkShare, it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire mediaFORGE, which will become part of LinkShare's portfolio of services. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. mediaFORGE's technology is used to help retarget advertising to online consumers, to help drive higher conversion rates on sales. Rakuten LinkShare said the buy will add to its portfolio of affiliate marketing, search marketing and lead generation services and solutions. mediaFORGE will remain in Salt Lake City, and continue to employ the approximately 50 people at the firm, according to Rakuten LinkShare. LinkShare is a cost-per-action (CPA) affiliate network operator which is now owned by Japanese e-commerce firm Rakuten.
