Sorenson Media Signs License With Renesas Electronics
Sorenson Media, the developer of video encoding and decoding software and technology with major operations in Salt Lake, said this morning that it has signed a licensing deal with semiconductor maker Renesas Electronics. Financial details of the license were not announced by the company. Sorenson Media said its Sorenson Spark video decoder will be used in upcoming chipsets from Renesas Electronics, in order to enable the playing of videos from the Internet. Sorenson Media develops video decoding and encoding technology, which is widely used for streaming Internet video.
