UQM Wins Australian Prototype
Longmont, Colorado-based UQM Technologies, the designer of high efficiency electric motors for the electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid vehicle market, reported today that it has won a customer in Australia. The firm said that Australian firm EV Engineering has selected its PowerPhase Select 145 electric propulsion system for a proof-of-concept, electric vehicle. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. UQM said that EV Engineering is looking to develop a line of fully electric, passenger cars, but does not yet have mass production plans for the vehicles. EV Engineering is backed by Air International, Bosch, Continental, Futuris, GE, and Better Place.
