Louisville, Colorado-based Zayo Group, the provider of fiber-based infrastructure, colocation, and interconnection services, said Monday that it has signed a deal with the EAGLE-Net Alliance, a cost-sharing cooperative which provides commodity Internet and advanced education and research networks to Colorado school districts and other institutions. Financial details of the win were not disclosed. Zayo said it is providing 511 miles of fiber to support EAGLE-Net in Colorado and Wyoming. Zayo said EAGLE-Net is using the fiber as part of a $100.6 million Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP) grant.
