Data Center Operator Plans Build In Phoenix
A major data center colocation operator said today that it is planning to build what it says will be the region's largest data center in Chandler, Arizona, and has purchase 40-acres to build a 1-million square foot data center. According to CyrusOne, a subsidiary of Cincinnati Bell, it is planning to start construction on the data center in 2012, within the Continuum, a 152-acre master planned science and technology business park. CyrusOne said it expects to serve Fortune 500 companies on the West Coast with the data center. CyrusOne cited the lack of natural disasters in the region for its choice of the location, plus access to 110 megawatts of power which will be delivered by an on-site substation.
