ViaWest Boosts Effort To Increase Women In Technology
Denver-based Viawest reports today that it has joined an effort to help boost the participation of girls and women in computing and IT. The provider of colocation and managed services said it is involved with the National Center for Women In Technology (NCWIT), with company co-founder and COO Nancy Phillips serving on the organization's board of directors. Viawest said the effort includes over 250 academic institutions, government agencies, and non-profits. The firm is also part of the NCWIT's Entrepreneurial Alliance, a subgroup promoting entrepreneurship among women in the US; that group has 14 founding members, of which a number are based in Colorado. Among those other local Entrepreneurial Alliance members are Boulder's Lijit, Broomfield-based SendGrid, and Boulder-based Standing Cloud.
