Imation Expands RDX Line
Imation, the data storage partner of Boulder-based Prostor Systems, is expanding its use of Prostor's RDX format, with a new line of RDX removable hard disk storage products, the firm said today. Imation said it is adding a new, network attached device for handling up to eight RDX cartdiges, its RDX "A8" multi-cartridge storage device; new support for the USB 3.0 interface; and increased cartridge capacities, cloud storage links, and more, the firm announced today. Imation is one of the major adopters of the RDX format, originally developed by Prostor, which replaces tape backup applications with hard-drive based removable storage acartridges. Imation is also an investors in Prostor.
