DISH, EchoStar Hail Patent Ruling
Englewood, Colorado-based DISH Network and EchoStar are hailing a ruling made Tuesday by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, which has rejected software patent claims made by competitor Tivo. DISH and Echostar said that they were "pleased" by the rejection, saying that the patents in question are the same ones that they had found to have infringed in a separate lawsuit against the firms by Tivo. Tivo said the patent claims rejections were ""separate and apart" from its litigation against Echostar.
