Boulder-based Rally Software announced this morning that it has acquired AgileZen, a developer of a visual project collaboration tool for Agile products. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. According to Rally, the acquisition will strengthen its position in the market for Kanban tools for the lean software industry. Kanban is one of the methods being used in lean software development, used for tracking work happening in a software project. Rally said that AgileZen had over 9,000 users, and had launched in July of 2009. Rally said it will both promote AgileZen's existing tool, as well as migrate the functionality into its platform.
