Fusion-io Powers Flash Storage Array Product
Salt Lake City-based Fusion-io, the heavily backed manufacturer of flash-based disk drives, is powering a new flash storage array from NextIO. NextIO, which develops virtual storage array technology for increasing the performance of databases, email, high performance computing, video on demand, and other applications, said it is using Fusion-io's ioMemory technology as part of a new product which supports up to five terabytes of storage, and provides up to 1.7 million IOPS of performance for storage applications. Fusion-io is backed with close to $50M in funding from Dell Ventures, Lightspeed Ventures, New Enterprise Associates, Samsung, and Sumitomo.
