Solar Panel Manufacturer Boosts Jobs In Arizona From Stimulus Funds
Solar panel manufacturer Amonix, which is focused on the concentrated photovoltaic power market, reported today that it is creating 167 jobs in Arizona, due to its receipt of $9.5M in stimulus funding from the federal Recovery Act's Advanced Energy Manufacturing Tax Credit. The firm said that the stimulus is creating 436 jobs in total, with an additional 269 jobs being created in Nevada. The firm has manufacturing operations in both states. The firm said that $3.6M of the funding were specifically for work in Arizona. Amonix reports that is is targeting the construction of an Arizona facility in 2011, with completion by the end of that year.
