Intermap Expands 3D Models In U.S.
Denver-based Intermap Technologies, which provides 3D mapping data for the GIS industry, announced this morning that it has rolled out new, high resolution digital elevation models and images for the states of Louisiana, Maine, New Mexico, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, and Texas. The firm said the new data is part of an effort to provide nationwide mapping of the U.S. by June 30th of 2010. Intermap's data is used by both government and commercial organizations for such things are cell tower placement, transportation safety, water resource management, and more. Intermap says it now has around 80% of the U.S. mapped.
