Local Matters Rolls New User Generated Media Platform
Denver-based Local Matters, which develops search software for the Yellow Pages industry, said this morning that it has rolled out Guidespot.com, a new publishing platform that the firm said can be used to create user-generated, local guides. According to Local Matters, the site will encourage users to create business reviews, share text and photos, videos, and maps. Perry Evans, CEO of Local Matters, said that the creation of the site is a key step in the firm's plan to incorporate social media into the local search landscape. Local Matters is venture backed by King Road Investments, Sandler Capital Management, Software Seed Capital, and Spencer Trask.
