Omniture Gets Patent
Orem, Utah-based web analytics firm Omniture said Monday that the firm has been awarded a patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, covering technology related to behavioral targeting, testing, and content optimization. The firm said that the patent, 7,260,551, is used for content targeting on Web sites, and targeted ad-serving. According to the U.S. Patent and Trademark office, the patent was granted August 21, 2007 and names Alan Paul Rolleston Philips as inventor; the patent was actually filed in March of 2001. The patent brings the company's total patents to 100, including both granted and pending U.S. and foreign patents.
