Colorado's Eighth Continent Project Takes off
The Eighth Continent Project, a comprehensive program to integrate space technology and resources into the global economy, announced Tuesday that it has officially "launched" from the Colorado School of Mines’ Center for Space Resources. The project's initial founding partners and sponsors include DigitalGlobe, the Keiretsu Forum, CTEK, Broadreach, the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, Townsend & Townsend & Crew, the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business Deming Center and the Colorado School of Mines. Based in Golden, Colo., the project aims to help tackle issues such as global warming and renewable energy development through the provision of space technology infrastructure and resources.
