LeftHand Upgrades Storage Software
Boulder, Colorado-based LeftHand Networks said Tuesday that it has released the latest version of the company's storage software. LeftHand's SAN/iq 7, which is used by enterprise customers deploying storage using the iSCSI storage protocol, adds thin provisioning, self-healing, and two solution packs for high availability and Windows environments. Thin provisioning is the ability to present storage volumes to computers without having the full amount of backing storage capacity, and is used by customers to manage their storage growth; the self-healing features proactively checks for disk read errors and takes corrective action.
