Ping Identity Upgrades Security Software
Denver, Colorado-based Ping Identity has upgraded the firm's PingTrust software, the firm's identity management product. Ping said that PingTrust 2 adds improvements to the software, including pre-built components for Web Services Security processing in Java, and elimination of the need to write integration code. PingTrust provides Web Service identity management, used by software developers using XML, SOAP, and other Web Services protocols to create single-sign in applications and to provide for security and authentication. Single-sign on allows multiple applications in an enterprise to use the same username/password and other security settings without having to manage multiple user databases and synchronization. Ping Identity is backed by Appian Ventures, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Fidelity Ventures, General Catalyst Partners, I-Vent, and SAP Ventures.
