EchoStar Wins Stay On Tivo Case
EchoStar is reporting that a federal court has blocked Tivo's injunction against the firm, for the duration of the firm's appeal. The stay will allow it to continue selling DVRs while the firm appeals a ruling made in August to halt sales of its DVR equipment. Tivo and Echostar have been engaged in a patent lawsuit since January of 2004, when Tivo sued EchoStar. Tivo issued a statement addressing the stay, saying "We are confident that the jury's decision in TiVo's favor will be upheld once the Federal Circuit has the opportunity to review the entire record in this case".
