McDATA Introduces MAN Blade
Broomfield, Colorado-based McData, a provider of storage area network (SAN) switches, today announced that it has a new, 10Gb/s blade for its Intrepid Fibre Channel switches. McData said that its new, Interepid 6000 XPM blade allows storage administrators to connect up to 100 kilometers to a secondary location. The new product is available through McData's channel and IBM and Sun Microsystems, and will be available from Hitachi Data Sysetms once it completes testing. McData's XPM blade is supported on McData's Interepid 6064 and 6140 director platforms. The new blade is a speed increase from the company's existing 2Gb/s offerings.
