Micron Supplies Racing Team with Video Gear
Semiconductor component manufacturer Micron Technology Inc. reported Tuesday that it is equipping a prestigious off-road auto racing team with video-recording equipment so that the team can document its exploits in an upcoming event. The Boise, Idaho-based company said it is installing its DigitalClarity CMOS image sensors and Lexar Professional CompactFlash NAND memory cards in three HUMMER H3 mini stock-class vehicles. The SUVs, which are operated by Team HUMMER of Rod Hall Racing, will compete in the SCORE International Tecate Baja 1000, which begins Nov. 13 in Ensenada, Mexico. Micron noted that the Baja 1000's harsh environment will serve as a durability test for its products. This year will mark the 40th time team leader Rod Hall has participated in the event, Micron added.
