Lindon, Utah-based MaxStream, a developer of ZigBee networking products, announced this morning that it has shipped a wireless extender that extends ZigBee and 802.15.4 networks up to 40 miles. The new hardware uses 900 MhZ RF technology to connect low-power, ZigBee wireless networks. The XBee Xtender hardware starts at $399 and will be available in December.
