LANDesk Software, a developer of IT service management software, revealed Tuesday that it has formed a strategic partnership with personal computer manufacturer Lenovo. Under the agreement, a LANDesk inventory management application will be licensed at no charge to owners of Lenovo 3000 ThinkPads and ThinkCentre personal computers. LANDesk said the utility, called the Starter Pack for ThinkVantage Technologies, has been optimized for Lenovo PCs. The software is available only to ThinkPad and ThinkCentre customers who have machines manufactured after Jan. 1, 2002. Owned by Avocent Corp., LANDesk Software is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah.
