Gnip Powers Library of Congress, Twitter Archive Project
Boulder-based Gnip, the provider of a service which archives social media data for enterprise apps, is powering the effort by Twitter and the Library of Congress, which will archive billions of public Twitter conversations for the Library of Congress. Gnip is venture backed by Foundry Group, First Round Capital and SoftTech VC and headed by Jud Valeski. The Library of Congress and Twitter announced the plans in April of 2010, but this is the first time Gnip revealed that it is the firm providing the data from Twitter to the Library of Congress.
