    Microchip Buys Hampshire Company

    Chandler, Arizona-based semiconductor firm Microchip Technology Incorporated said Wednesday that it has acquired Hampshire Company, Inc., a maker of touch screen controllers. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. microchip said that the deal would be immediately accretive to the firm's earnings. Hampshire Company makes large-format touch screen controllers and related software.
