    Forum Systems Launches XML Accelerator

Salt Lake City Utah-based Forum Systems said this morning that it has launched a new XMl acceleration product targeted at the Web Services market. The company said that its new XML Accelerator provides XML Schema Validation, XPath, and XSLT functions, and is available as an appliance. The device targets the enterprise software market, where a shift to XML-based SOAP architecture is boosting XML network traffic and processing needs. The product goes up against a growing number of vendors marketing XML-processing specific gear, including network vendor Cisco, chip vendor Tarari, Datapower (recently acquired by IBM), Reactivity, Westbridge, and others. The company's Vantage XML Accelerator starts at $45,000. Forum Systems also develops a SOA security gateway and web services firewall.
