Ball Aerospace Wins NASA Contract
Boulder, Colorado-based Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp. reported today that it is one of four companies which have been selected by NASA, to develop ways to store and transfer cryogenic propellants in space. Ball said that each of the companies was awarded up to $600K for the project. The work is going towards future deep space human exploration missions, specifically for space-based fuel depots, which would be required for missions to an asteroid by 2025. Ball said it has provided cryogenic technology to NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope and the space shuttle program.
